Switch Hit

I saw this ad from Fine Paints of Europe in this months House Beautiful and I stopped in my tracks.  I dont know if it was that awesome green paint, or the fact that it was done in high gloss, but I just love this entry.

Then, as I often do with interior design photos, I imagine if it was my own entry and what I might change about it.  Sometimes its a few things, sometimes its the whole room, but this time it was just one thing.

Can you spot the change?

I had the same reaction when I saw the ad. LOVE the colors, the laquer, all of it. Why the changed the chandy though I don't know.

This ad struck me too! Definitely bold, but the glossiness of the lacquer is a showstopper. I'm pretty sure I prefer the sputnik fixture because it adds an unexpected touch to a collection of traditional furnishings.

I thought this was gorgeous too. The lamp? Or the light fixture? I don't know :)

Love it and the change of light fixtures. A fantastic lighting designer told me that lights are like earrings - they can change the entire look of a room!

P.S. Thank you so much for your advice on Italy. I am packing more t-shirts to layer. I would have been miserable walking around in boots and sweaters.

That light fixture rocks. I wish I would walk into a crappy flea market and find one for like 45.00 or some ridiculous amount!!!
